US fuel ethanol stocks drop 3.6% to 16.3m bbl - EIA

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US fuel ethanol stocks fell by 3.6% to 16.3m bbl (685m gal) in the week ended 8 October from a week earlier, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Thursday.
Despite the drop, ethanol production last week averaged 877,000 bbl/day, an increase of 1.6% from 863,000 bbl/day in the previous week, the government said.
US ethanol production in September averaged 855,500 bbl/day, up from 854,000 bbl/day in August, according to EIA data.
