Malaysia's Titan Chemicals to restart LDPE unit on 26 October

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Malaysia's Titan Chemicals plans to restart its 220,000 tonne/year low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant at Tangjung Langsat, Malaysia, on 26 October, after shutting it on 5 October for maintenance, a source close to the company said on Monday.

LDPE supply had been tight in China and southeast Asia in the past months due to scheduled and unplanned shutdowns at plants in the Middle East and Asia. 

Titan’s shutdown had further tightened regional supply, regional traders said.

The company was not immediately available for comment.
