LONDON (ICIS)--Prices of jet fuel in Europe have risen this week as the strike at France’s oil refineries continues amid fears of further price increases, market sources said on Monday.

Jet fuel premiums for barges were assessed higher on Monday, with November ICE gasoil at plus $48-51/tonne compared with the 11 October range of $39-40/tonne.

Market sources said that if the strike continues, product supplies are likely to tighten, which will lead to higher prices.

A trader remarked that the supply situation was not drastic.

A buyer denied the strikes would have any effect on availability, saying France “was not a big player” in the European jet fuel market and that if market participants were fearful of short supply, there would have been more trades in the market last week.
