US fuel ethanol stocks drop 1.8% to 16.0m bbl

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US fuel ethanol stocks fell by 1.8% to 16.0m bbl in the week ended 15 October from a week earlier, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.

Despite the drop, ethanol production last week continued to rise, averaging 881,000 bbl/day.

The figure represents an increase of 0.5% from 877,000 bbl/day in the previous week, according to the EIA data.

US ethanol production in September averaged 855,500 bbl/day, up from 854,000 bbl/day in August.
