IOC to restart cracker in H2 Oct after turnaround

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--State-owned Indian Oil Corp (IOC) plans to restart its 857,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker in Panipat in the second half of October following a turnaround since the start of the month, a company official said on Thursday.

“The cracker is expected to restart 24-25 October,” he said.

IOC had delayed the restart of the cracker from the earlier scheduled date of 15 October to time it with the restart of its derivative plants that had also been taken off line, the source added.

Downstream operations at the Panipat facility include a 600,000 polypropylene (PP) plant and a 650,000 tonne/year polyethylene (PE) facility.
