SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan's TASCO is poised to resume operations at its isopropanol (IPA) unit in Kaohsiung on 29 October, following a turnaround and expansion, a company source said on Wednesday.

The unit was shut on 20 October.

“The unit will restart on Friday,” the source said.

During the debottlenecking, the capacity would be increased to 30,000 tonne/year from 20,000 tonne/year.

Regional supply of the solvent was tight due to a spate of turnarounds.

However, demand from top regional buyer China was fizzling out as the country faced an armada of imported cargoes in the next few weeks, traders said.
