SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Jilin Petrochemical Co, a subsidiary of PetroChina, is operating its 100,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant at 70-80% capacity after restarting it on 22 October, a company source said on Monday.

The acetone cyanohydrin (ACH)-based plant, which is located at Jilin city in northeast China, was shut on 10 October for a turnaround.

“The company expects to run the plant at full capacity by next week,” he added.

MMA is used to produce polymethyl methacylate (PMMA) polymer, cast sheets and acrylic resins for coatings and emulsions.
