Fire breaks out at a Singapore chemical facility, 1 injured

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--A fire broke out at a chemical facility in the western part of Singapore early on Monday, according to a source from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

SCDF received a call regarding the fire at 24 Gul Lane in Tuas at around 11:00 hours Singapore time (0300 hours GMT), the source said, adding that fire fighters took around 45 minutes to control the fire.

A man was injured during the incident and was sent to the hospital, the source added.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation, according to the source. The owner of the facility was not immediately clear.
