SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Mitsubishi Chemical has firmed up plans to shut all its three naphtha crackers in Japan for scheduled maintenance in 2011, a company source said on Tuesday.

The 375,000 tonne/year No 1 cracker in Kashima, Ibaraki prefecture, would be shut for 45 days from May to June, he added.

Next, the 453,000 tonne/year No 2 cracker would undergo a turnaround for 45 days from end-June to August, the source said.

Mitsubishi Chemical’s 450,000 tonne/year cracker in Mizushima would be taken off line for a month between May and June next year, he added.

At present, the crackers are operating at near 100%, the source said.
