SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s Hebei Chung Shun Chemical Co is operating its acetic acid plant at Xingtai in Hebei province at 80% capacity after restarting it on 24 October, a company source said on Wednesday.

The 500,000 tonne/year plant was shut in mid-October for an annual turnaround, the source added.

The unit’s daily output of around 1,000 tonnes was mainly reserved for existing contract customers, said the source, adding that only a small volume of product would be supplied to the spot market.

“The shutdown did not have an impact on contract cargoes because the company had sufficient inventories at that time," the source told ICIS in Mandarin.

Hebei Chung Shun Chemical Co is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kingboard Chemical Holdings.
