TORONTO (ICIS)--Eastman Chemical has entered into a joint venture with Italian firm Mazzucchelli 1849 SPA to produce compounded cellulose diacetate (CDA) in ?xml:namespace>
The venture would produce bio-derived CDA for use in various injection moulded applications, Eastman said.
Eastman’s cellulosics are produced from 100%-renewable softwood materials, the company added.
The joint venture agreement was in response to increasing demand for cellulosic materials, Eastman said. It did not disclose financial or capacity details.
