SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's Ningbo ZRCC Lyondell Chemical Co (NZLC) has shut its propylene oxide/styrene monomer (PO/SM) facility in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, for a 15-day turnaround, a source close to the company said on Monday.
The plant, which has a nameplate capacity of 285,000 tonnes/year of PO and 620,000 tonnes/year of SM, was originally scheduled for maintenance in December, but some repairs had to be done right away, added the source.
Meanwhile, the scheduled turnaround at its 1m tonne/year upstream naphtha cracker was also brought forward to begin on 11 November, the source said.
However, the source could not confirm the exact restart date of the cracker.
NZLC is a joint venture between US’s LyondellBasell and Sinopec’s Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Co (ZRCC) and is a major PO/SM seller in the key eastern China market.
