RIO DE JANEIRO (ICIS)--Brazilian chemicals producer Oxiteno plans to open a commercial office in Asia next year, chief executive Joao Benjamin Parolin said on Monday.
The move follows the opening of a Brussels commercial office in Belgium, as well as a US office in Chicago, he said in a statement at the Latin American Petrochemical Association (APLA) annual meeting.
Parolin did not disclose the location of the Asia office.
“[Opening the Brussels and Chicago offices] has helped us [get] closer to our customers and to better understand their needs,” Parolin said.
“North America is an important market for us,” he added.
About 30% of Oxiteno’s employees are also based outside ?xml:namespace>
The company is the chemical subsidiary of Brazilian industrial company Ultrapar.
