HOUSTON (ICIS)--US November maleic anhydride (MA) contracts have rolled over for November amid a seasonal lull in the downstream unsaturated polyester resins (UPR) market, market participants confirmed on Tuesday.

The November rollover leaves MA contract prices at 76.20-82.20 cents/lb ($1,680-1,812/tonne, €1,210-1,305/tonne) molten FOB (free on board) US Gulf (USG).

Producers said there was still a chance for a price increase by 1 January due to higher butane prices.

MA buyers acknowledged that butane prices had been high, but also noted that there had been no problem in sourcing inventory.

Major US MA producers include Huntsman, Lanxess, Marathon, Flint Hills, and Bartek.
