SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Asahi Kasei Corp is planning to ramp up production at its recently restarted methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant in Kawasaki, Japan, to 100% in the next two weeks, a company source said on Monday.
Asahi Kasei restarted the 100,000 tonnes/year plant on 11 November after completing a 44-day maintenance shutdown that started on 28 September, the source said.
Other large MMA producers in Asia include Mitsubishi Rayon Co (MRC), Sumitomo Chemicals, and Formosa Plastics.
