SINGAPORE (ICIS )--Mitsubishi Rayon Co's (MRC) China subsidiary, Huizhou MMA Co, has cancelled a turnaround of its 90,000 tonne/year MMA plant in Huizhou, China, a company source said on Monday.
The company originally planned to shut the plant for more than 20 days in December to ‘adjust its annual production rate’, a company source said.
However, MRC had obtained operational permit from the authorities to maintain full operation and there was no need to carry out the shutdown, said the source.
Other Asian MMA producers include Asahi Kasei, Sumitomo Chemical and Formosa Plastics.
MMA is used to produce PMMA polymer, cast sheets and acrylic resins for coatings and emulsions.
