The plant was scheduled to shut from 20 November for around 20 days as part of the central Chinese government’s effort to meet carbon reduction targets set in its 11th five-year plan (2006-2010), the source added.
The company’s cargoes were mainly for spot market supply and only a small portion was for contract customers, the source added.
The shutdown was expected to have little impact on the market as the producer would prepare for sufficient inventories, the source added.
