SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s SKC plans to shut its propylene oxide (PO)/styrene monomer (SM) facility in Ulsan in the first half of 2011 for a brief turnaround, a company source said on Thursday.
The PO/SM facility, which has a nameplate capacity of 180,000 tonnes/year of PO, would be shut for less than a week, the source added.
“As it is a short turnaround, it would not have any impact on the market,” said the source.
Other PO/SM producers in Asia include Ningbo ZRCC Lyondell Chemical Co (NZLC) and CNOOC & Shell Petrochemicals Co (CSPC).
