SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) plans to delay the delivery of 100,000-120,000 tonnes of naphtha to January from December, as its 1.03m tonne/year No 2 naphtha cracker in Mailiao did not start up smoothly, traders said on Friday.

“There was a cracker issue,” said a trader, who did not elaborate on it.

Another company source, however, said the No 2 cracker was operating at low rates. He did not provide further details.

Formosa was not immediately available for comment.
