HOUSTON (ICIS)--Braskem chief executive Bernardo Gradin is expected to step down in 2011, the Brazilian group said on Monday, with plans for the job to go to Carlos Fadigas, who now oversees the company’s operations in the ?xml:namespace>
The nomination of Fadigas would be submitted to Braskem’s board of directors in 2011, the company said.
Braskem cited “constant improvement of its governance practices” as having prompted the succession.
The company did not elaborate on Gradin’s future status with the group.
A Braskem spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Braskem said it produces more than 15m tons/year of thermoplastic resins and other petrochemical products.
