SABIC opens new UK polyolefin logistics centre

LONDON (ICIS)--SABIC has officially opened its new polyolefin UK logistics centre in Middlesbrough, in the northeast of England, the petrochemical giant said on Tuesday.

The new facility, which replaces the company's current UK logistics centre in Ipswich, is operated by Swiss logistics and transport providers Bertschi.

SABIC said that the opening of the centre underlined its long-term commitment to providing products in its polyolefin portfolio, including linear low density polyethylene film (LLDPE), high density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP), to UK customers.

“Our investment in this logistics centre demonstrates SABIC’s faith in the UK market as a long-term consumer of polyolefin materials,” said Raf Bemelmans, the company's European director for the polymer supply chain.

SABIC UK sales office director Michael Allen said: “Our business strives to take a leadership position in petrochemicals. Among other commitments, this involves building a world-class European supply network capable of giving our customers dedicated support.”
