HOUSTON (ICIS)--The contract price of benchmark US Tampa ammonia for all December shipments decreased 2% from November to $460/tonne (€345/tonne), a source close to the negotiations said on Wednesday.
The December CFR (cost and freight) contract settlement between Yara and its customers represented a $10/tonne decrease from the $470/tonne November price.
The settlement was consistent with market expectations as some traders felt the Tampa price was in line with ammonia prices in Yuzhny, Ukraine, of $400/tonne FOB (free on board), a source said.
Demand for ammonia has been strong as the autumn application season in the US neared completion and farmers placed orders for spring fertilizer needs, a source said.
