US ethanol inventories up 0.6% despite production drop

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US fuel ethanol inventories rose by 0.6% in the week ended 19 November despite a drop in daily production of the biofuel, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.

Ethanol stocks last week were at 16.8m bbl (706m gal) whereas daily production fell by 0.4%, the EIA said in a weekly report.

US ethanol production last week averaged 891,000 bbl/day, down from 895,000 bbl/day a week before.

Ethanol output in October averaged 873,000 bbl/day (1.14bn gal), up from 855,500 bbl/day in September.
