SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japanese producer Mitsubishi Rayon Co (MRC) plans to raise the capacity of its polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) plant in Nantong, China, by 10,000-15,000 tonnes/year in the third quarter of 2011, a company source said on Thursday.

The nameplate capacity of MRC's 40,000 tonne/year PMMA plant would be raised to 50,000-55,000 tonnes/year after the debottlenecking, the source added.

The expansion was in anticipation of a continued demand growth for its optical grade PMMA, largely from the electronics sector, the source said.
