France's Rhodia to install 12,000m² of solar panels at Belle-Etoile

LONDON (ICIS)--Rhodia will install 12,000m² of photovoltaic panels on the rooftops of its warehouses at the Belle-Etoile site in Saint-Fons and Feyzin, France, the chemicals maker said on Monday.

Peak capacity of the panels will be 2MW, with power generation of 2m kWhours/year expected. The panels, one of the largest industrial photovoltaic installations in France, will avoid the release of 1,000 tonnes/year of carbon dioxide (CO2), Rhodia said.

The company has a target of installing photovoltaic panels at its sites with a combined peak generating capacity of more than 80 MW between now and the end of 2011.
