SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Asia’s largest methyl methacrylate (MMA) producer, Mitsubishi Rayon Co (MRC), shut its 55,000 tonne/year butane-based line at Otake in Hiroshima prefecture on 1 December for a nine-day turnaround, a company source said on Friday.
The line would be restarted on 10 December, the source said.
MRC, operates another crude butane-based 55,000 tonnes/year MMA line at the same location, said the source.
The company also operates a 107,000 tonne/year acetone cyanohydrin-based MMA line at the same location, he added.
