OAO Mogilevkhimvolokno is a subsidiary of Belarusian state-owned petrochemical holding company Belneftekhim.
The output of the biodiesel plant would far exceed the specifications of European biodiesel standard EN14214, said BDI BioEnergy.
Rapeseed oil, sourced from crops guaranteed under a government land commitment, would be used as feedstock in the plant’s biodiesel production, it added.
“Implementation of the government’s specification that biodiesel must be added to diesel fuel can be guaranteed in this way. Speculation with agricultural raw materials, which is the main price driver, will be curbed as a result,” said Hammer
Discussions on a possible future expansion of the plant from a single-feedstock to a multi-feedstock configuration had been held between BDI-BioEnergy and OAO Mogilevkhimvolokno, said BDI-BioEnergy.
