SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thai MMA is currently running its 90,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) line No 1 at 90% capacity after restarting it on 7 December, a company source said on Thursday.

The No 1 line was taken off line on 22 November for a 15-day turnaround period, the source said.

“However, we detected some problems with the plant equipment during the turnaround, hence the plant was unable to run as smoothly as we expected,” he said.

The plant, located at Mab Ta Phut Industrial Estate in Thailand’s Rayong province, was expected to resume full operating rate by the middle of December, the source added.

Thai MMA is a joint venture between Mitsubishi Rayon of Japan and Siam Cement Group of Thailand.
