SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s LG Chem plans to shut its styrene monomer (SM) units in the second half of March next year for maintenance, said a company source on Thursday.
The company operates a 200,000 tonne/year No 1 unit and a 300,000 tonnne/year No 2 unit at Yeochon. It has another 160,000 tonne/year plant at Daesan.
The maintenance is expected to last around 23 days to the middle of April.
Other SM producers in South Korea include SK Energy, Samsung Total Chemical and Yeochon NCC.
