LONDON (ICIS)--Egyptian granular urea prices have fluctuated over the week, but rose to $410/tonne (€312/tonne) on last business, traders said on Friday.

The demand outlook for granular urea was strong, with European and US consumption expected to be healthy in the first quarter of 2011. This was supporting Egyptian urea prices, traders said.

In the latest deal, a trader paid $410/tonne FOB (free on board) for a 30,000-tonne January cargo.

Prior to this, Egyptian supplier Alexandria Fertilizer Company reported selling a total of 27,000 tonnes to various buyers at prices ranging from $395-400/tonne FOB for shipment at the end of December.

Producer Helwan Fertilizer Company was fully committed for December, having sold its remaining 6,000-7,000 tonnes to a buyer at $399/tonne FOB for December shipment to Austria.

Last week, trades ranged from $395-405/tonne FOB.
