US ethanol inventories rise slightly despite production drop

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US fuel ethanol inventories rose slightly in the week ended 17 December despite a drop in daily production, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.

Ethanol stocks last week were at 16.8m bbl, up by 0.6% from 16.7m bbl in the previous week.

Meanwhile, daily production fell by 4.8% to 892,000 bbl/day, the government said.

US daily ethanol output in November averaged 887,000 bbl, up by 1.6% from 873,000 bbl/day in October.
