HOUSTON (ICIS)--ExxonMobil reported flaring at its Baytown olefins complex in Texas, according to a public filing available on Wednesday.

The emissions on Tuesday were related to repairs on a safety valve, the company said in the filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

Production was not impacted, according to the filing.

ExxonMobil does not comment on its operations, according to a spokesperson.

The company has two crackers in Baytown with a combined 2.2m tonnes/year of ethylene capacity.

US ethylene for January traded on Wednesday at 42.25 cents/lb ($931/tonne, €708/tonne) down from 42.75-43.00 cents/lb last week.
