US ethanol inventories, daily production up slightly - EIA

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US fuel ethanol inventories rose slightly in the week ended 24 December along with a small increase in daily production of the biofuel, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Thursday.

Ethanol stocks last week were at 16.84m bbl (707m gal), up by 0.4% from 16.77m bbl in the previous week.

Meanwhile, daily production rose by 2.4% to 913,000 bbl/day, the government said.

US daily ethanol output in December averaged 920,000 bbl/day, up by 3.7% from an average 887,000 bbl/day in November.
