LONDON (ICIS)--The first European January styrene barge contract has been settled at €1,215/tonne ($1,620/tonne), up €130/tonne from December, the buyer and seller confirmed on Monday.

According to the buyer, raw materials for styrene moved up €151/tonne but the length in supply and relatively low spot levels helped softened the upward movement.

The price was agreed on a free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE) basis.
