SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China’s East Hope Group has achieved on-spec production at its new 300,000 tonne/year methanol plant at Chongqing city in southwest China, a company source said on Thursday.

The producer got on-spec methanol late on 29 December after two months of trial runs, the source added.

However, the plant was operating at around 50% and was not expected to run at full capacity in the near term, the source added.

The start of sales before the Lunar New Year would depend on the operating condition of the new unit, the source said.
