SHANGHAI (ICIS)--China's Maoming Petrochemical, a subsidiary of Sinopec, has restarted its 380,000 tonne/year No 1 cracker on 5 January, after it was shut for maintenance, the petrochemical major said in a statement on Friday.

The cracker was restarted a day earlier than originally scheduled and on-spec production was also achieved on the same day, the statement said.

Maoming Petrochemical shut down its No 1 cracker for scheduled maintenance on 1 December last year.

The cracker is located at Maoming, in China’s southern Guangdong province.
