SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Saudi Methanol Company expects to restart its about 900,000/tonne year methanol plant Ar-razi 4 in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia by next week, a source at its parent firm SABIC said on Wednesday.

The plant was shut last week for maintenance.

The other methanol plants totalling around 4 m tonne/year, on the same site are now running well, the source added.

The company has delayed maintenance on its Ar-razi 5 plant due to healthy methanol sales.

The company is a joint venture between SABIC (50%) and the rest with a Japanese consortium led by Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company.
