LONDON (ICIS)--Indian domestic sulphur producer Reliance has made an award under its 8 January sales tender, market sources said on Wednesday.
Reliance offered 25,000 tonnes of granular sulphur for 9-15 February shipment from Sikka.
The cargo was awarded at an undisclosed price and the destination was not yet decided, a Reliance source said.
There was speculation in the market that the cargo was sold above $170/tonne (€131/tonne) on a free on board (FOB) basis.
“The winner must have paid over $165/tonne FOB,” a trader who participated in the tender said.
Reliance last sold 20,000 tonnes of granular sulphur under its 28 October tender. The cargo was reportedly sold between $165-170/tonne FOB.
