US November TDI exports decline 25% year on year

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US exports of mixtures of 2,4- and 2,6-toluene di-isocyanate (TDI) in November were 11,463 tonnes, a 25% drop from 15,282 tonnes during the same month a year earlier, according to US International Trade Commission (ITC) data released on Thursday.

November TDI exports rose 3.5% from 11,078 tonnes the previous month.

From January through November, TDI exports increased by 23% to 169,710 tonnes, compared with 138,119 tonnes in the first 11 months of 2009, according to the ITC.

Top destinations for US TDI from January through November were Belgium (41,873 tonnes), Mexico (18,426 tonnes) and Canada (14,746 tonnes).

US TDI suppliers include Bayer MaterialScience, BASF and Dow Chemical.
