Europe January DMT up by €70/tonne on upstream hikes

VALENCIA, Spain (ICIS news)--European January dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) reference prices rose on Friday by €70/tonne ($93/tonne) to €987-1,028/tonne in line with upstream paraxylene (PX) and methanol price increases.

The DMT price was agreed on a FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe) basis.

Paraxylene soared to €1,120/tonne in January, up €90/tonne from December.

First-quarter methanol was announced at an increase of €38/tonne to €315/tonne FOB (free on board) Rotterdam.
