SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thailand's PTT Chemical is planning to restart its 250,000 tonne/year high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plant at Mab Ta Phut by end-January after shutting it in December 2010 because of mechanical problems, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The plant is operated by PTT Chemical’s wholly owned subsidiary Bangkok Polyethylene.

PTT Chemical’s second 250,000 tonne/year HDPE plant at Mab Ta Phut, which is also operated by Bangkok Polyethylene, was currently running at full capacity, he added.
