SINGAPORE (ICIS)--TPC Vina Plastic will shut its 190,000 tonne/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant in Dong Nai, Vietnam, from 25 January for maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.
The plant would be restarted after the Lunar New Year festivities in Vietnam, the source said, without specifying a date.
The Lunar New Year holiday this year falls on the first week of February.
TPC Vina's plant is currently running at full capacity and only supplies to the domestic market, said the company source.
The company is a joint venture between Thai Plastic and Chemicals TPC (70%), Vietnam National Chemical Corp (15%) and Vietnam National Plastics Corp (15%).
Asian PVC spot prices were last assessed at $990-1,020/tonne (€733-755/tonne) CFR (cost & freight) SE Asia (southeast Asia), according to ICIS data.
