SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Ras Laffan Olefins Co is having some maintenance works at its 1.3m tonne/year ethane cracker in Ras Laffan, Qatar, this month, market sources said on Thursday.
It was not clear if the cracker was currently off line or was simply running at reduced rates, they said. One source said the maintenance could last for 7-10 days. He did not provide details.
Company officials were not immediately available for comment.
Ras Laffan Olefins is a joint venture between Qatofin, Q-Chem and Qatar Petroleum.
Separately, the same sources said Qatar Petrochemical Co’s (Qapco) 720,000 tonne/year ethane cracker in Mesaieed was also currently undergoing maintenance and should resume operations in late January. No further details were available.
