SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japanese refiner Idemitsu Kosan has restarted a residue fluid catalyst cracker (RFCC) at its 140,000 bbl/day Hokkaido refinery following an unscheduled shutdown, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The 33,000 bbl/day RFCC was restarted on 24 January after being shut down since 4 December following technical problems with the unit. An extended period of repairs resulted in the restart of the unit being delayed.

Idemitsu operates four refineries in Japan which have a combined capacity of 640,000 bbl/day.
