SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Salalah Methanol Company's 1.3m tonne/year plant in Oman is currently shut due to a mechanical failure, a company source said on Friday.
The plant was shut two days ago, the source said, adding that the company was still investigating the cause of the problem at the unit.
The Salalah-based plant, a joint venture between Oman Oil and Oman Energy Trading, was started up in May 2010.
