SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Saudi Kayan Petrochemical said over the weekend it has signed a deal for equal partnership in a new 330,000 tonne/year n-butanol (NBA) plant worth Saudi riyal (SR) 1.8bn ($480m) at Jubail Industrial City.
The deal was signed between Saudi Kayan, Saudi Acrylic Acid Co (SAAC) and a Saudi Aramco-Dow Chemical joint venture (JV), it said in a statement.
Each party would have a 33.3% stake in the plant, which would be built within SAAC’s complex, the company said.
NBA production at the plant was expected to start in the second half of 2014, Saudi Kayan said.
