US Solutia sells its DTCs and TBzTD businesses for $26m

LONDON (ICIS)--Solutia has sold its dithiocarbamates (DTCs) and tetrabenzylthiuram disulfide (TBzTD) businesses to Performance Additives Europe, a subsidiary of Germany-based Behn Meyer Chemical Holding, for $26m (€19m), the US specialty chemicals producer said on Tuesday.

"These divestitures support our strategy to focus on high-value, global market-leading performance materials and specialty chemicals," said Greta Senn, president and general manager of Solutia's Technical Specialties division.

The rubber chemicals DTC and TBzTD are manufactured in Termoli, Italy, Solutia said.
