HOUSTON (ICIS)--Turkey-based Koksan PET & Plastic Industry signed a contract for the construction of two polyethylene terephthalate (PET) production lines with a total capacity of 432,000 tonnes/year, the producer said on Tuesday.

Koksan said it signed a contract with German engineering firm Uhde Inventa-Fischer to build two new PET resin lines next to its existing PET pre-forming and bottling facilities in Gaziantep, Turkey, making the company Turkey’s largest PET producer.

The first line would come on stream the third quarter of 2012.

Koksan did not disclose the cost of the new lines.
