HOUSTON (ICIS)--US fuel ethanol inventories fell by 0.8% last week, reversing a streak of eight weekly gains in stockpiles, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.
Ethanol stocks stood at 18.89m bbl in the week ended 28 January, down from 19.04m bbl a week earlier, the government said.
US production of the biofuel also declined, according to the EIA, which showed ethanol output last week dropping by 1.5% to 908,000 bbl/day.
US ethanol production in January averaged around 908,000 bbl/day, down by 1.3% from 920,000 bbl/day in December.
