S Korea December methanol imports jump 8% from November

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>S Korea’s methanol imports in December rose 8% month on month on the back of healthy downstream demand, market sources said on Monday.
The country took in 159,197 tonnes of methanol, representing a 27% surge year on year, based on official statistics from Korea International Trade Association (KITA).
In December, local distributors in South Korea mostly replenished their inventory, which was lower than the monthly average, market sources said.
